Mazda Zoom Zoom at SEMA

Last month, Mazda delivered a ton of modified vehicles to the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Starting off, the Mazda2 "Evil Track" is an update of the MAZDA2 Evil concept, which debuted at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. It features an aerodynamic body kit, an H&R suspension, a roll cage, Sparco seats, and lightweight 15-inch wheels with Hoosier race tires.

As for Mazda3 Turbo, designers added black exterior accents, tinted windows, and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. Under the hood, power is provided by a 2.5-liter MZR engine which has been outfitted with a Garrett turbocharger.

2012 Mazda RX-9

New details are starting to emerge about the 2012 Mazda RX-9.

According to AutoCar, the RX-9 will be the spiritual successor to the RX-7 and feature a traditional two-door body. It is rumored to weigh approximately 2755 lbs and share chassis components with the next-generation MX-5.

Power will be provided by a new rotary engine, which is expected to use an electric supercharger, with upwards of 300 horsepower. Despite the added performance, the RX-9 will be more efficient than the RX-8. A launch of the all new RX-9 is scheduled for sometime next year.

Mazda Moving to Mexico

Mazda Motors is thinking of moving ? well not from Japan, at least not its headquarters. But a new proposition to construct a factory in Mexico has been presented to owners.This will be to take advantage of growing demand in that region.

"It is natural that we are considering entering an emerging market to expand our business ... We are considering every possibility," Mazda said in a statement Tuesday. The company, Japan's fifth-biggest car maker by sales volume, said it may establish a base in an emerging economy together with a trading house.
