MAZDA6 Rated at 43 MPG

Usual cars that go over 40 miles to the gallon they are small, Japanese and a hybrid vehicle. The new MAZDA6 is from Japan but doesn't fit the usual criteria for a fuel efficient car.

The new MAZDA6 is a mid-size sedan that runs on a regular internal combustion gas engine but it still gets 43 miles to the gallon.

Mazda hopes the car will achieve the 43 MPG rating with the use of old fashion technology by bringing the diesel engine back to style. These days gas prices can fluctuate 50% in one day, but diesel keeps its worth and burns slower than unleaded fuel.

The 2011 MAZDA6 is a 2.2 liter turbo diesel V6 and will hit up to 150 horsepower which helps to maintain hat over-40 MPG rating.

Mazda is also hoping that the new MAZDA6 will help attract more fleet sign ups in the future.

The typical fleet sales goes to rental car companies or large corporation. By March 31, 2011, Mazda expects to sell more than 50,000 MAZDA6 cars, with about 50% of those as fleet orders.
