New Mazda CX-5 Gets Six Million Dollar Man Treatment

Steve Austin was the world's first bionic man, according to the 1970s hit television series The Six Million Dollar Man, as the fictional test-pilot was rebuilt to become 'better, stronger, and smarter' than he was before. Taking a page from the TV show starring Lee Majors, Mazda is launching a new advertising campaign for the all-new 2013 Mazda CX-5 called "Better. Stronger. Smarter." to highlight the new and improved features on the crossover SUV.

A 60-second commercial, followed by three 30-second ads will highlight the CX-5 using a 1970s theme and music to show how Mazda made its most popular SUV better, stronger and smarter with its cutting edge SKYACTIV technology. The new CX-5 not only has a plethora of features like push-button start, it also has earned an IIHS 'Top Safety Pick', along with having the highest highway fuel economy than any SUV sold in North America, and that includes hybrids. It's these attributes that make the CX-5 almost superhuman like the Six-Million Dollar Man.

"The emphasis on science and technology throughout the campaign helps us tell the story to consumers in a different but relatable way. Essentially, it's science fiction without the fiction," says Harvey Marco, chief creative officer of The Garage/Team Mazda.

Starting at just $20,695 MSRP, the 2013 Mazda CX-5 will feel like you're driving a smooth-riding, technologically advanced bionic machine, all while looking stylish in the greater Alcoa and Knoxville, TN area.

To check out the ad for yourself, visit the Mazda YouTube page, at youtube.com/Mazda. After that, come check out the CX-5 or any of our selection of new Mazda vehicles here at Twin City Mazda. Conveniently located at 3076 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN, we're more than happy to discuss Mazda technology, as well as compare models and arrange test drives.
